Wall of Memories http://www.wccva.org/apps/photos/ Wall of Memories Jay Clements My son Jay Clements was murdered on September 3, 2006 by a just turned 18 year old named Noel Caldellis. Jay stepped outside a friend's house in Brier to try and calm down a group of younger kids who were starting to fight in front of the house. Jay was shot twice from a distance of 10-15 feet with a 357 magnum: a collector's pistol. Having turned 21 a little over a month before he was shot, Jay was just starting his senior year at the University of Puget Sound. While he was studying communications, his true passions were snow boarding and mountain biking. He excelled at both. We skied and snow boarded all over North America and Europe, many times in back country down glaciers. He was an outgoing, athletic, gregarious individual. The gun used to kill Jay was purchased by Noel from a friend in his Christian youth group Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC) for $80. The collector who owned the gun did not have a trigger lock on it. It came without ammunition: Noel was able to secure some from a Mukilteo family who did not keep their ammunition locked up. After spending over $1 million in a defense effort funded by his family, Noel was convicted of first degree murder and is spending 25 plus years in State prison. What a tragedy both for our son, and for Noel. What a tragedy that guns and ammunition can be so easily obtained by underaged youth. What a tragedy there are so many irresponsible gun owners. ~Submitted by Dan Clements, dad http://www.wccva.org/apps/photos/photo?photoID=99818608 99818608 James Louis Warner Died 8-8-2009 My brother was homeless; he was the "Man on the Corner" a kind and gentle soul. He is still sitting in Spokane County Jail almost a year and a half later. We have still not received any justice. My sister was killed instantly and Her friend was told that he would never be able to work again.
